Week 3

Say cheese!

I think this is the best thing that's happened this week, we caught on camera you smiling. It wasn't easy. It seems as if you only have one smile per person per day. After that you just scowl and wrinkle your eyebrows at us.

It was wonderful to have your Grandma McMillen here to help out. Although, now that she's gone, it's almost as if we could use here this week. But we will get through. Your dad and I may not have any hair left, but we will get through it.

After these weeks of waking up every 2 hours at night, I realized-you have your days and nights backwards. Daddy and i have embarked on a perilous journey. One that starts with lots of crying and, now tears, but hopefully will end with happy nights.

However, you've Learned a new trick- how to keep yourself from falling a sleep. You're doing it now, as I hold you in my arm and type one handed. About ever 5 seconds, you struggle to open your eyes, manage to get the lids up, but by that time, your eyeballs have rolled waaay back, and you close your eye again. Then you make cute little noises that make me want to just snuggle you all day long!

I think you've just started to discover where your hands are. I found you once with two fingers in your mouth, purposefully, not like got there on accident. I notice too that you are grabbing things, not just things that find their ways into your hands, but reaching out and grabbing the blanket or my shirt.

You are so precious to your daddy and me. We love it that God chose to give you to us and not someone else!

Keep growing, Brendon. I love you.
