Hey there!

These posts are just notes to my sons, but you're welcome to read on if you're inclined to do so.

Month Two

So many things have gone on this past month. You met daddy's dad, Uncle David, Uncle Josh, Aunt Shannon, and cousins Cynthia and Molly. They live in Chicago. So you had your first vacation and first plane rides, too!

You've had about 20,000 growth spurts. I've packed away all of your newborn clothes, dug out the 3 month clothes, and considered mixing in the 6 month clothes too! But I do have some restraint. I think when you're done with this spurt, you'll probably be in those 6 month clothes because the 3 month clothes are getting a bit snug.

I weighed you on our scale and it read 14 pounds! Fourteen pounds!! Only 9 weeks old and almost doubled your birth weight! I've had to readjust your carseat straps already once, and I'm thinking I'll have to do it again before long.

I have to go back to work before we hit 3 months, and I am not looking forward to it. Well, I am, but I'm not. I think I'll like sharing stories of you to my coworkers. I know I'll like getting a paycheck. I know I'll enjoy getting back into the nursing thing (nursing as in medical, not feeding you :D). I'll miss spending the morning with you. I'll miss listening for your cry that your nap has ended and you can't remember your last meal. I'll miss burping and dodging your spit-up. I know it's only a few days a week, but each day will seem like forever.

I hope you have fun with Christina and Braden. I hope we can get a good schedule down that won't drive Christina crazy trying to keep up with you and Brade. I hope you and Daddy enjoy the weekend together. At least I can see you at lunch times (ish).

I really never knew how much stuff a baby comes with. I feel like everywhere I turn there are burp rags, diapers, clothes, and pacifiers. We have so many *things* for you to sit in/on that you should never, ever get tired of them all. Aunt Merlene brought you Paul's swing from when he was a baby. I think it's your favorite. You almost never (ALMOST) get cranky in it. Sure, you don't fall asleep in it, but it keeps you content until Daddy or I put you down for a nap.

You have your 2 month check-up coming up soon. You'll start getting your shots, too. I hope you don't cry. I almost cry when I have to suck the snot out of your nose, and that doesn't even hurt! I can't imagine what I'll do when something hurts you :(

Keep growing, Brendon. I love you.
